What is Short Term Accommodation and Assistance?
Under the NDIS, Short Term Accommodation and Assistance (STAA) replaces what used to be known as respite for people with a disability.
Short Term Accomodation and Assistance can be either:
– A short stay in a property with other people.
– Additional support in your own home.

Caura’s Short Term Accomodation properties are packed full of fun capacity building programs, and activities that are individually tailored to your support needs.
What activities will i get to do?
Like respite, our Short Term Accomodation services can give you the chance to meet new people, try new activities and challenge yourself. Depending on the location of the STA, there are a variety of different activities this can be seeing the latest movie, going to the beach, checking out a local attraction, going out for a meal, or playing your favourite sport. Call us, have a chat about the different locations.
What supports will Caura provide me?
Our staff will ensure that all your needs are met. This could include:
- Meal planning and cooking
- Personal Care such as showering and dressing
- Taking medication
- Nutrition
If you’d rather these support’s in your home, we can also arrange this.
How long can i stay in one of Caura’s properties?
You can stay for a day, overnight, a weekend, a holiday or longer. It is important to make sure your know what your NDIS plan includes.
